Can anyone tell me what this building is or does?
I was walking to Mayow Park this weekend (lovely place that is in the sun) and I finally had a few extra moments to check out the building.
It is on Mayow Road, just between the school and the park and just in front of the tower blocks.
It has large bay doors that seem to be able to accommodate large trucks, but no other real windows or other features. I thought it was a hall, but considering the lack of access, I now doubt it.
Anyone out there know?

Update: thanks to Courtney Hamilton for this information in the comments (and for correcting my spelling of Mayow):
"The building is used by the council to store machinery for Mayow Park next door.
They have a couple of those motorised lawnmowers, cages for cut grass, and lots of other machines you need to keep a park like Mayow in tip-top order."

I always thought Forest Hill would be the perfect setting for the next James Bond villain's house - could this be it?
what is it about Forest Hill that you associate with James Bond villains?
We'd need a bigger pond for one of those submerged cities, or at least a launch platform for a space base, or maybe a bigger hill for the mountain health retreat.
I'd also think that Google Earth maps of this area, including my mystery building might make not make this a Goldfinger stylee des-res
No ideas yet on what it is?!
Hi Robert,
The building is used by the council to store machinery for Mayo Park next door.
They have a couple of those motorised lawnmowers, cages for cut grass, and lots of other machines you need to keep a park like Mayo in tip-top order.
I've walked past that building thousands of times (I used to live on Church Rise for over 12 years) to use the free tennis courts.
aaaahhh!
thanks! that makes perfect sense and I should have realised. It is a pretty big building for the purpose, but I don't suppose there is anywhere in the park itself for this kind of stuff, and it is good to see parks like this well maintained.
thanks for the info
No problem.
BTW, it's Mayow - you got me spelling it incorrectly now.
Good luck with walking the streets of SE23.
heh!
My spelling is usually OK, but names I have a problem with. I knew someone called Mayo so I keep getting that wrong. I still have the same issue with Stanstead and Stansted!!
thanks
